This beginning quilting class will introduce fundamental quilting skills like fabric selection, cutting with a rotary cutter, accurate piecing, and basic machine quilting techniques. Students will learn to prepare fabric, understand seam allowances, and master essential techniques like piecing and quilt binding. The class will guide participants through the process of creating a quilt top, layering, binding and machine quilting a placemat. Supplies and tools will be available. Participants should bring their sewing machine with all the feet, or call if you need to borrow one. Lots of these skills can be applied to making a larger project such as a runner or quilt.
